Paris: What we did!
Paris is one of those cities that somehow feels just as magical every single time. From morning walks and café lunches to late-night martinis and dinners that stretched for hours, here’s exactly how we spent a few unforgettable days in my favorite European city.
Day 1
A canceled overnight flight turned into the best kind of bonus: an unexpected extra day in Paris. Checked into our favorite hotel, Hôtel Costes, and started the trip off just the way we like to. We hit the ground walking, spent the afternoon shopping on Rue Saint-Honoré, and found a few forever pieces along the way before settling in for a late lunch.
Night 1
We had dinner at Hôtel Costes, where we were staying, and it was the perfect way to ease into the trip. The dumplings, crab and avocado lettuce wraps and sea bass ceviche are always a must, and the scene is as chic as ever.
Day 2
The second day started the way all good Paris mornings should, with plenty of pain au chocolat and a long walk through the city. We had 10:30 tickets to Musee D’Orsay, where I made my annual visit to see Degas’s ballerinas, followed by even more walking and an especially lucky return to Hermès ;)
Night 2
That night we had dinner at David Toutain, an unforgettable tasting menu that seemed to go on forever in the best possible way. Eighteen courses, plenty of wine, and our friends arriving in Paris that day made it one of those dinners we’ll be talking about for a long time.
Day 3
We spent yet another perfect day in Paris walking for hours through Le Marais and Saint-Germain, with a long lunch at Café Charlot in between. There is truly no better way to see the city than wandering with no real agenda and stopping whenever something catches your eye.
Night 3
That night we had a 10 p.m. dinner at Mondaine, which is absolutely worth booking for the show as much as the food. Between the music, dancing, and everyone eventually on their feet, it turned into one of those wildly fun Paris nights that lasted much later than planned.
Day 4
Saturday was spent wandering through Saint-Germain, one of my favorite neighborhoods to get gloriously lost in. We stopped for lunch at Les Deux Magots, and as cliché as it may be, the chicken club sandwich is still one of my favorite lunches in the city (with a croque madame earlier in the trip, of course).
Night 4
That night we had dinner at Petite Lutetia, one of our longtime Paris favorites. The morel pasta is a must for the table, my miso salmon was incredible, and we started the evening with my favorite cucumber martinis at Hôtel Costes—always ordered sans sugar.
Day 5
On our final morning, Jordan and I walked along the Seine with coffee and pain au chocolat in hand, soaking in every last bit of Paris before heading home. We’re already counting down until we’re back in December, and as always, if you’re looking for the best travel agent, shoutout to @travelwithcaline!
Another in the books. Shop all the looks that made the trip, counting down until we’re back at our happy place!
