LBI...
Ever since I was born I would spend every summer down in Beach Haven, Long Beach Island (aka the Jersey shore). In fact here’s a pic of me as a kid down here. We'd park ourselves at the end of June and go back home after Labor Day weekend. I never went to sleep away camp and instead opted to work at a young age. I was a junior camp counselor at the JCC at probably 11 years old and then went to work at Toy Safari, the toy store in Schooner's Wharf. This was when Beanie Babies were all the rage so I'm sure I spent most of my earnings on those during those summers. I have the best memories of coming down here, walking around at night with my beach friends, blasting music out of my seafoam green boom box on the beach during the day while tanning (oops) and just living that beach life. I'm at a point now where my kids equally love their shore time and it really fills my heart. After they got home from sleepaway camp we came down for 5 nights and packed it all in while equally relaxing. It's easy to walk 20k steps a day, go for runs in the bike lanes where it's flat (and 4 miles feels easy) and walking across the street for our daily bakery and iced coffee run where of course Log Dog would accompany us. Here are the hits. I miss it already just writing this! BTW, it's not just amazing during the summer, I have been bringing the kids for every spring break for the past several years down to my parents house for the week and it's equally magical.
Where we ate dinner:
Parker's Garage, Black Whale, The Engleside and Bird and Betty's.
Where we picked up lunch from:
Holiday Snack Bar (you must get the chocolate cake with marshmallow icing), Playa Bowls (Coco loves their Acai bowls) and Spice It Up (sandwiches and grilled cheese). If you're at the other end of the island then The Local is excellent.
Where we ate bfast and drank coffee from:
Crust n Crumb, Cool Beans and How You Brewin'
What we did:
Fantasy Island (amusement park with rides and games outside and an arcade inside), shopped at Bay Village and Schooner's Wharf, Island Gypsy (Coco loves the clothing there--most things under $100) and The Surf Shack and Farias (for Steele).

Here's everything I wore too!
